To celebrate the 46th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and China, The Fujian Communities Association of Canada is organizing “2016 Mid-Autumn Festival Charity Gala and the 2nd Fujian Culture Exhibition” on Oct 14th & 15th at the Markham Civic CentreGrand Hall Exhibition, and Oct 16th at the Markham Event Center banquet hall. These events are strongly supported by the Markham Civic Centreand we are honored to have the Mayor, Frank Scarpitti, to chair the event.
These events are also strongly supported by some associations and related government authority organizations from Fujian, China.
Fujian is located in China's southeast coast and is surrounded by mountains, seas, and pleasant subtropical weather. It also has rich cultural heritage with many historic and tourist attractions. The tea culture has always been an important aspect of Chinese culture and a driver of foreign exchange in the region. Fujian province in China produces among the highest quality tea around the world and has built this reputation through several centuries.
On the days of the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala and Fujian Culture Exhibition there will be a series of Fujian Tourism video play, book fairs, historical photographic and Chinese calligraphy displays, tea brewing performances, tea tastings, traditional fashion shows, and cultural dances.
We hope that through this exhibition and gala, the community can learn and experience the happiness to celebrate Mid-Autumn festival, rich Fujian culture and flavors of quality Fujian tea.

加拿大亚裔文化节暨茶文化博览会
Introduction
This exhibition is initiated
by the New Immigrants Foundation for Special Needs (NIFSN)and
OPS East Asian Network Group (EANG). EANG will host Annual East Asia Heritage
Festival (Heritage celebration) from May 24th 2016 to May 27th 2016, in
the core OPS building. The Tea culture of Fujian and Yunnan as part of East
Asia culture will be promoted in this festival.
The tea Exhibition is
organized to be part of the Festival in the same facility, to be promoted to
almost 100,000 of the OPS employees, and other company employees around the
area, who not only come from local communities, East Asia Communities but also
from other communities (North America, Europe, South America, and other part of
the world).
The purpose is to display
developing history of the Tea cultures, let more Canadian understand and accept
Tea culture in order to promote the development of Tea culture exchange. The exhibition
obtains supporting from local communities and Ontario government diversity
groups, and got positive response from the some business commonalities in China.
This
exhibition will cooperate with Canada Fujian Chamber of Commerce and Yunnan
General Business Association of Canada, which highly increases the social and culture
influence for both countries between Canada and China. Since the government has
a policy that supports entrepreneurs to engage into this exhibition, this
exhibition will bring decent social and economic benefits.
Your participation will promote the tea culture overseas,
the bilateral trade and investment cooperation in the tea industry.
New Opportunities between China and Canada
With thousands years’ history and
superior quality, Chinese Tea is popular and famous in China and Chinese
communities around of the world. Canada promotes multicultural environment and
holds various cultural tea exhibitions every year. However, only a small
portion of Chinese Teas has being exported.
Fortunately, the exhibition will be as a
platform to present and advertise them to international markets. Through ideas
exchange and business connections, top Chinese Tea and associated tea culture
will be introduced to Canada by creating publicity and expanding Chinese Tea
exportation which benefit both China and Canada for a long term.
Event Organizers
NIFSN
is a charity organization serving the new immigrants to Canada from all over
China and other countries.
EANG is an employees’ network group of
Ontario Public Services (OPS, Ontario Government), which focus on promoting
East Asian culture within OPS and Ontario.
We
have setup a professional Preparatory Committee to plan, organize, prepare and
implement the Festival and Exhibition, taking charge of selecting tea type,
promoting through local media and seeking for sponsors.

Notice
2016
is a significant year for celebrating a great relationship between Canada and
China. In order to create a better culture and trade exchange environment, we
would like to hold the international tea culture exhibition every year.
As an international city, Toronto provides a perfect
platform to present tea arts and has experiences of holding various cultures and
trade exchange events. We believe that Toronto International Tea Culture Exhibition
will increase Chinese tea reputation, facilitating tea trading, and bringing
economic and political
benefits for both countries.
